Tommy Kovac has been writing and illustrating comics since 1999. He has written & illustrated the original series, "Stitch," "Skelebunnies," and "Autumn." Kovac also writes Wonderland, a new look at Lewis Carroll's classic creation. Wonderland is published by SLG & Disney, and illustrated by Sonny Liew. When illustrating his own work, Kovac focuses on highly-detailed line work and distinctive lettering, all done by hand. His storytelling ranges from irreverent and naughty, to tragic and complex, to fun and fantastical, depending on the project. Kovac proudly has no formal training in art or writing, but reads all the time, and has worked in several different libraries, doing story-times, working with angst-ridden teenagers, and making great bulletin board displays. He is co-creator (with best pal Julie) of an ongoing indie zine called Library Bonnet, which is full of thoughtful essays, dirty drawings, spontaneous cartoons, and weird activity pages. All of these creative endeavors are done on the side, when not earning a living at the library. Kovac resides in Orange County, California, with his handsome husband, Anthony, and their sensitive little dog, Mr. Scoots.
